Your Role

 

We are seeking an experienced and values-driven Team Leader for our Alcohol and Other Drug (AOD) Programs at Freeman House in Armidale. You will provide high-quality care delivery while leading and supervising a dedicated team. This includes overseeing intake coordination, residential and community case management, counselling services, and group programs.  You will be part of a supportive, values-driven team that is passionate about delivering positive outcomes for the local community.  

Your Responsibility

 

  • Provide day-to-day leadership and supervision of staff, supporting professional development and performance management
  • Ensure successful implementation of the Strategic Plan within your team
  • Coordinate client intake and assessment processes, and allocate cases across the case management team
  • Oversee the delivery of residential rehabilitation and withdrawal management programs, including scheduling and staff allocation
  • Support staff to provide strengths-based, recovery-oriented care in line with Vinnies’ AOD Model of Care
  • Promote client integration into mainstream community resources, including healthcare, housing, and social services
  • Participate in coordination of care with external services and agencies
  • Ensure accurate data collection, entry, and reporting for evaluation, research, and quality improvement purposes
  • Contribute to continuous quality improvement, policy development, and organisational initiatives
  • Maintain a safe, secure, and compliant environment for clients, staff, volunteers, and visitors
  • Participate in the on-call roster alongside other Team Leaders

You Will Need

 

  • Diploma or higher qualification in Social Work, Social Science, Community Welfare, or a related area
  • Experience in a supervisory or leadership role with understanding of administrative, accountability, and data management processes
  • Ability to motivate, mentor, and lead a team to deliver effective client outcomes
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, analytical, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills
  • Experience in drug and alcohol and mental health services, including assessment and evidence-based interventions
  • Knowledge of community resources across drug and alcohol rehabilitation, mental health, legal assistance, income support, employment, training, and accommodation
  • Understanding of WHS legislation and child protection requirements
  • Experience managing complex caseloads and case planning
  • Basic computer skills and experience with health information systems
  • Current NSW driver licence
  • First Aid Certificate or willingness to obtain
