This role involves assisting with client entry and assessment, supporting daily operations, and contributing to a welcoming, safe, and supportive environment for residents of Freeman House

 

Your Responsibility

 

  • Be the first point of support:Welcome and assist clients as they begin their journey with us, helping with entry assessments and daily activities to ensure they feel safe and supported.
  • Collaborate with a dynamic team: Work alongside & learn from a multi disciplinary team that deliver holistic, client-centred care. 
  • Creating a warm, safe, and empowering environment: whether its assisting in accommodation services, leading group activities or maintaining client records, you’ll be a critical part of creating a welcoming environment for our residents
  • Support with heart: Provide respectful, trauma-informed care that’s non-judgmental and inclusive, always upholding the dignity and rights of every client.
  • Go above and beyond: From assisting with daily living needs to advocating for clients, your support will be essential in helping them navigate their challenges and work toward a better future.
  • Enjoy variety: Every day is different! You’ll work across a 24/7 rotating roster, which includes day, afternoon, and sleepover shifts, ensuring no two days are the same!

You Will Need

  • Experience working with individuals impacted by homelessness, family breakdown, mental illness, or alcohol and other drug addiction
  • Relevant Certificate or equivalent experience, or currently undertaking tertiary study in a related field.
  • Strong De-escalation, written and verbal communication skills.
  • Capable of working independently and as part of a team.
  • Sound judgment in crisis and emergency situations.
  • Non-judgmental attitude and commitment to ethical service delivery.
  • Basic computer literacy and experience with data collection.
  • Willingness to work a rotating roster.
  • First Aid Certificate or willingness to obtain 
  • Drivers Licence.
