Your Role

 

We are seeking an Offsider to fill the full time position at the Auburn Distribution Centre.  This role involves loading and unloading of goods, assisting in collecting donated goods and delivering stock into Vinnies retail stores and customers.  You will have a "hands on" attitude and interest in working in a fast-paced environment.  With some heavy manual tasks that need to be done, your physical fitness and ability to strictly follow safe manual handling techniques are of paramount importance. 

Your Responsibility

 

  • Assist in loading and unloading of goods onto trucks and vans
  • Assist in collecting donated goods and and delivering stock to stores and items to people we assist in a timely manner
  • Provide excellent customer service to customers and donors.
  • Ensure the security of goods, equipment and vehicles; and ensure care and proper handling of goods during collection and delivery.
  • Ensure compliance with work, health and safety at all times.

You Will Need

  • Demonstrated experience in a warehouse or distribution environment. 
  • Comprehensive understanding of relevant Workplace Health & Safety legislation  
  • Recent completion of a Manual Handling Course. 
  • Professional empathy skills in working with donors and welfare client’s good communication style with the public and other team members. 
  • Physical capacity to stand for long periods of time and lift goods safely.
  • Proven ability to work as part of a team.
