Your Role

As a Shop Assistant, you’ll play a key role in creating a positive, inclusive and engaging store experience for customers, welfare clients, volunteers and team members alike. You’ll support the day-to-day running of the store, help achieve financial and stock targets and ensure the shop floor looks great, while always keeping people and purpose front of mind.

Your Responsibility

  • Deliver friendly, respectful and customer-focused service every day
  • Assist with stock control, pricing, merchandising and rotation to keep the store fresh and appealing
  • Support welfare clients professionally and confidentially, ensuring all vouchers and paperwork are handled correctly
  • Help maintain stock levels, quality standards and seasonal displays
  • Contribute to meeting store budgets and financial targets
  • Encourage volunteers to engage with customers and provide great service
  • Respond to customer enquiries and complaints promptly and professionally
  • Support a safe, compliant and welcoming workplace by following WHS, risk and Society policies

You Will Need

  • Experience in retail or customer service, with a strong customer-first mindset
  • Excellent communication, organisation and time-management skills
  • Confidence working with stock, displays and financial targets
  • Flexibility to work weekends and extended trading hours
  • A collaborative approach and willingness to support team and volunteer success
  • Alignment with our values, mission and community impact focus

Bonus points if you have:

  • Fashion retail experience and an eye for styling
  • Experience working with volunteers or in a membership-based organisation
