Your Role

 

Join our Bowral Youth Refuge team and make a genuine difference in the lives of young people experiencing or at risk of homelessness. As a Support Worker, you will play a key role in creating a safe, supportive environment while helping young people build independence, resilience, and a pathway forward. You’ll work alongside a dedicated team of Case Workers to deliver meaningful, person-centred support.

Your Responsibility

 

  • Support young people through intake and assessment processes
  • Create a safe, welcoming and structured environment
  • Assist with casework support, including practical assistance and advocacy
  • Liaise with external services to ensure holistic client support
  • Contribute to daily operations including meals, activities, transport and accommodation tasks
  • Maintain accurate case notes and communication records

You Will Need

 

  • Availability to work this rotating roster: Week 1: Thurs 17:00–23:00, Fri 07:00–09:00 & Week 2: Fri 17:00–23:00, Sat 07:00–09:00 & 17:00–23:00, Sun 07:00–09:00
  • Relevant Certificate, experience, or current study in a related field
  • Strong communication skills with a client-focused approach
  • Ability to work independently and within a team
  • Calm, confident and able to respond to crisis situations
  • Current First Aid Certificate
  • Compassionate, non-judgemental and values-driven
  • Current Driver Licence
