  • 3 x days per week | Part-time Max-term Contract | Location: Inverell, NSW

  • SCHCADS Award $41.52 to $44.68 per hour + super

Your Role

 

This role is an opportunity to support and strengthen the wellbeing of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in the Inverell community.As an Identified AOD Care Navigator, you will walk alongside community members, supporting their recovery journey through culturally safe, respectful, and community-led approaches. This is a part-time role (3 days per week) focused on building strong local connections and improving access to alcohol and other drug support services.  The New England AOD Hub is a diverse service designed to meet the needs of people living in regional communities.The Hub supports people experiencing AOD challenges, mental health concerns, and other complex needs, with a strong focus on culturally safe service delivery for the local community. 

Your Responsibility

 

  • Providing culturally appropriate care and support
  • Strengthening connections between individuals, families, and services
  • Supporting people to stay connected to culture, community, and Country
  • Working closely with Aboriginal organisations, including Armajun Aboriginal Health Service
  • Building trust and relationships within the local community

You Will Need

 

  • Identified role under Section 14d of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1977 and as such Aboriginality is an essential requirement of the role 
  • Experience working with community and supporting people with complex needs
  • Understanding of AOD and community services
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • Ability to work both independently and within a team
  • Current NSW driver licence
