Your Role
As a Case Worker, you will deliver high-quality, person-centred support that is grounded in trauma informed practice and social inclusion. You will assess needs, coordinate services, and help clients navigate complex systems during some of the most challenging times in their lives. You will work alongside families to strengthen safety, wellbeing and long term outcomes. You will provide trauma informed, child centred support within a safe and structured environment. Working closely with families, you will help children and young people regain confidence, reconnect with their communities and build pathways toward independence.
Your Responsibility
- Act as the first point of contact for individuals seeking Domestic and Family Violence support services
- Conduct client assessments in line with SHS Practice Guidelines in a respectful, empowering and non-judgemental manner
- Facilitate referrals to appropriate services including accommodation, health, legal and community supports
- Deliver culturally appropriate support to clients from diverse backgrounds, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date client records within the Client Information System
- Build and maintain strong relationships with internal teams and external service providers
- Ensure strict adherence to privacy, confidentiality, and relevant legislation
- Contribute to a safe, compliant and supportive workplace environment
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development
You Will Need
- The St Vincent de Paul Society considers being a woman is a genuine occupational qualification for this position under section 31 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1977 (NSW).
- Certificate IV in Community Services or higher qualification, or equivalent sector experience
- Demonstrated experience working within homelessness and or Domestic and Family Violence services
- Strong understanding of trauma informed care and the gendered nature of violence
- Proven ability to engage effectively with culturally and linguistically diverse communities
- Confident communication skills with the ability to build trust across a wide range of people
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team
- Knowledge of relevant support services including mental health, AOD, legal, housing and income support
- Experience using client databases and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Current NSW driver licence (unencumbered)
