This is a flexible, part-time opportunity for someone who wants to make a real difference.

Your Responsibility

  • Develop and refine onboarding pathways for both formal and informal volunteers, including the use of digital registration and tracking tools.
  • Lead and facilitate taskforce and working group meetings, providing structure and direction to disaster recovery planning and delivery.
  • Design and deliver training programs that are trauma informed and culturally safe, including simulation activities and “train-the-trainer” models across hybrid and face-to-face formats.
  • Support Vinnies’ disaster response efforts during activation periods, playing a key coordination and communication role when communities are impacted.
  • Collaborate with internal teams (Programs, IT, Engagement) to embed disaster readiness into everyday systems and practices.
  • Monitor and evaluate program performance, track volunteer competencies and produce timely reports and insights using platforms like Power BI.
  • Contribute to long-term sustainability planning, helping document learnings and pathways for embedding disaster recovery practices into core operations.

You Will Need

  • Experience managing community or disaster recovery projects
  • Strong skills in volunteer coordination, stakeholder engagement and cross-sector collaboration
  • A practical understanding of trauma-informed and culturally safe practices
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
