Your Role
As an Internal Auditor with the St Vincent de Paul Society NSW, you’ll play a key role in ensuring integrity, accountability and good governance across our SVDP (Society) Housing Australia. Using a risk based approach, you’ll evaluate the effectiveness of management controls, help safeguard our resources and support compliance with policies, procedures, regulations and accounting principles. This is a meaningful opportunity to apply your skills while contributing to an organisation that makes a difference in the lives of people experiencing disadvantage. Please note this is a Part Time role working 0.4 FTE on a six month contract starting in October.
Your Responsibility
- Assist in the development of annual audit plans and audit programs.
- Conduct both scheduled and unscheduled audits.
- Prepare audit reports and working papers for review.
- Monitor and follow up on management responses to recommendations.
- Maintain the fraud register and contribute to the Integrated Risk Management System.
- Build positive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including external auditors and investigators.
You Will Need
- Tertiary qualification in accounting or a related discipline.
- Previous audit experience, internal or external considered.
- Knowledge of best-practice auditing standards and methodologies.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and negotiation skills.
- Excellent project management and organisational ability.
- Progress towards membership of CA ANZ, CPA Australia or Certified Internal Auditor.
