Your Role
This is a pivotal leadership role perfect for someone who combines technical excellence with strong interpersonal skills. You’ll lead the Accounts Payable and Receivable functions, build relationships across the business, and re-establish confidence and trust in the finance function as a valued business partner.
Reporting to the Group Financial Controller, you’ll oversee a team of Accounts Payable and Receivable Officers (4 direct and 6 indirect reports), ensuring high-quality service delivery and effective financial operations. You’ll maintain robust internal controls, governance and compliance frameworks while driving a culture of service, accountability and continuous improvement.
Your Responsibility
- Lead, develop and empower a motivated finance shared services team
- Build relationships and trust across the organisation, positioning finance as a proactive, solution focused partner
- Manage all AP and AR functions, ensuring payments are made within terms and debtors are effectively managed
- Oversee the maintenance and integrity of systems, policies and internal controls
- Build collaborative partnerships across directorates and act as the primary contact for operational finance matters
- Identify, escalate and mitigate financial performance or compliance risks
- Drive continuous improvement and support transformation within the finance function
- Coordinate and triage audit queries related to AP and AR, ensuring timely and accurate responses
You Will Need
- Strong leadership and people development experience, ideally with large or diverse teams
- A proven track record of strengthening systems, processes and relationships within a finance operations environment
- Excellent stakeholder engagement skills where you know how to build credibility and influence across all levels of an organisation
- Solid knowledge of Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, cash flow and internal controls
- Analytical and detail-oriented approach, with the ability to improve performance through insight
- Tertiary qualifications in accounting, finance or a related discipline - CPA/CA ideal
- Experience in a not-for-profit or values-based organisation is highly regarded, but not essential
