Your Role
As the Outreach Officer, you will be responsible for the promotion of No Interest Loan Programs (NILs) throughout the Wollongong area through supporting women and domestic violence clients. You will also support St Vincent de Paul Central Councils in the recruitment, training and co-ordination of members and volunteers to provide client support services for the purpose of extending the reach of the NILs program.
Your Responsibility
- Maintain relationships with key services, building strong referral pathways
- Attend and participate in local networking opportunities to source key relationship partners
- Respond to NILS enquiries in an efficient and timely manner
- Perform NILS loan interviews using myNILSapp, in accordance with approved policies and procedures
- Attend and contribute to staff, department and other meetings as required
- Commit to professional development and best practice
- Adhere to all WHS policies and procedures and work within
You Will Need
- Relevant certificate, equivalent experience in a related field.
- Class C drivers licence desirable with the ability to use a personal car to attend some appointments as needed. (reimbursement provided)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with a customer service focus.
- The ability to work both independently and as part of a supportive team.
- Excellent relationship building skills – able to connect with people from diverse backgrounds
- Demonstrated understanding of the credit needs of people on low incomes, and a commitment to promoting financial inclusion
- Demonstrated experience working with volunteers – recruitment, training and co- ordination
