Your Role

 

We’re seeking a proactive and organised Paralegal and Legal Administration Officer to join our small and collaborative team. This is a diverse role where you'll be trusted to manage a mix of legal admin, paralegal tasks and complaints handling. You’ll report directly to the General Counsel and work alongside two Senior Legal Officers, supporting a diverse range of services and stakeholders across the Society. This is also a great opportunity to learn from experienced legal professionals in a supportive environment, with exposure to a wide range of legal, compliance and organisational matters.  This is an ideal opportunity for someone looking to grow their legal career in a mission-driven organisation, while enjoying variety, autonomy and strong support.

Your Responsibility

 

  • Supporting the legal team with contract preparation, document review and legal research

  • Assisting with subpoenas, litigation support and claims management

  • Drafting simple agreements using templates and supporting contract execution

  • Providing administrative support including document filing, registers and reporting

  • Supporting the Privacy Officer with audits and privacy matters

  • Liaising with internal teams and external counsel

  • Contributing to complaint triage and resolution (initial 3-month focus), including coordinating investigations

  • Helping to ensure smooth operations, clear communication and compliance across the function

You Will Need

 

  • Tertiary qualifications in law or legal studies (or near completion)

  • Experience as a paralegal or in legal admin

  • Strong time management and ability to juggle priorities across multiple matters

  • Professional, confident communication and great attention to detail

  • Familiarity with legal concepts, privacy principles and complaints resolution

  • A collaborative and flexible mindset
