Your Role

As the Schools, Youth and Member Engagement Officer, you’ll be at the heart of connecting young people, schools, members and volunteers to the Society’s mission. Working across the West Region, you’ll bring statewide strategies to life locally; creating inclusive, engaging opportunities for young people (up to 35 years old) to participate, learn and lead. You’ll collaborate closely with regional leaders, youth representatives and colleagues across the state to strengthen youth engagement, support member programs and contribute to social justice and advocacy initiatives. This is a hands-on, relationship driven role where your work will have visible impact in communities. Please note this role requires travel to regional and remote parts of Western NSW as and when required by the Society. 

Your Responsibility

  • Deliver projects and initiatives that strengthen youth and school engagement, aligned to statewide strategy.
  • Build strong relationships with members, volunteers, schools and local communities to create meaningful opportunities for young people.
  • Support social justice and advocacy initiatives for schools and youth across the region.
  • Assist with the delivery of member programs including Twinning, ERF, CAMS and others.
  • Coordinate forums, events and learning opportunities to share ideas and best practice.
  • Support attraction, engagement and compliance activities for members, volunteers and youth.
  • Use data and insights to report on engagement initiatives and outcomes.
  • Contribute to a safe, compliant and well-governed working environment.
  • Support the Regional Director and Regional Operations team as required.

You Will Need

  • Experience supporting activities in member-based or volunteer organisations.
  • Strong communication, relationship-building and project coordination skills.
  • A passion for youth engagement and developing programs for young people.
  • Confidence using social media and digital platforms.
  • A NSW driver’s license and ability to travel occasionally.
  • Alignment with the Society’s mission, values and people centered approach

Desirable: A relevant tertiary qualification and experience working with volunteers in regional settings.
