Your Role

As a Member and Community Engagement Coordinator, you’ll be the driving force behind building strong relationships with members, volunteers, and community partners. You’ll support local initiatives, empower grassroots teams, and bring people together through events, programs, and advocacy. Every day is different – from engaging with community leaders and volunteers to rolling out exciting state-wide initiatives that create real impact. Based in our Maitland hub, with travel to Newcastle, Hunter and surrounds, this job offers the chance to meet and engage with different audiences regularly.

 

Your Responsibility

  • Connect with members, volunteers and the community to grow participation and engagement.
  • Support grassroots leaders and local teams to deliver positive outcomes.
  • Coordinate community events and campaigns that shine a light on social justice issues.
  • Experience in recruiting and onboarding volunteers and community members.
  • Help implement membership and volunteer initiatives across the region.
  • Champion the values of compassion, inclusion and advocacy.

You Will Need

  • Developing and implementing engagement strategies in community or membership based organisations.
  • Coordinating community programs or volunteer initiatives across diverse groups.
  • Building strong relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Analysing data and reporting on engagement outcomes with a solid Administration ability.
  • Communicating confidently across different channels and settings.
  • Managing competing priorities with a collaborative and solutions focused approach.
