Your Role

In this rewarding and varied role, you will support women and children experiencing domestic and family violence, homelessness and crisis. You will provide practical and emotional support, advocacy and case management, helping clients navigate complex circumstances and access the services they need to move forward safely and with confidence. You will be part of a passionate and supportive team that takes a trauma-informed, strengths-based and person-centred approach to supporting women and their families.

Your Responsibility

 

  • Provide practical and emotional support to women and children experiencing domestic and family violence, homelessness and crisis
  • Complete comprehensive assessments and develop personalised support plans
  • Provide outreach and in-home support, meeting clients where they are
  • Support clients to access appropriate housing, health, legal, financial and community services
  • Work collaboratively with government, community and specialist service providers
  • Advocate for clients and ensure their dignity, safety, rights and choices are upheld
  • Maintain accurate and confidential case notes and records
  • Identify and respond appropriately to risk and safety concerns
  • Apply a trauma-informed, strengths-based and non-judgemental approach to all interactions

You Will Need

 

  • 4+ years' experience supporting people experiencing family and domestic violence
  • Certificate IV in Welfare, Community Services or a related discipline, or currently studying towards one
  • Demonstrated experience working with people experiencing complex and challenging circumstances
  • Strong understanding of domestic and family violence, homelessness, trauma and mental health
  • Excellent communication, advocacy and relationship-building skills
  • Ability to build trust and rapport with clients from diverse backgrounds
  • Strong case management, assessment and documentation skills
  • Ability to work autonomously while contributing positively to a collaborative team
  • Current NSW Driver Licence
