Your Role
Join a dedicated team supporting women and children experiencing or at risk of homelessness. Based at Louise de Marillac House, this role places you on the frontline of compassionate, practical support, helping people move from crisis to stability and independence.
As a Case Worker, you will provide person-centred support to individuals and families experiencing homelessness or at risk of becoming homeless. You will build trust, assess needs, and work alongside clients to create pathways towards safe and sustainable housing.
Your Responsibility
- Engage with people sleeping rough or at risk of homelessness
- Conduct intake, assessment, and ongoing case management
- Develop and review tailored case plans with clients
- Provide crisis intervention and practical support
- Advocate for clients with government departments, courts, and service providers
- Link clients with housing, health, education, and life skills programs
- Conduct home visits within temporary or transitional accommodation
- Maintain accurate client records and case notes
- Support a safe, welcoming environment for women and their children
- Build strong partnerships with community and support services
- Contribute to service targets, reporting, and continuous improvement
- Assist with general administration and day-to-day service operations
- Support and guide volunteers and student placements
You Will Need
- Being a woman is a genuine occupational requirement for this role under Section 31 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1977
- Qualifications in welfare or a related field, or currently studying
- Experience supporting women and children impacted by domestic and family violence
- Strong understanding of homelessness and its contributing factors, including mental health, addiction, and family breakdown
- Knowledge of local support services and ability to build effective partnerships
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Confidence working both independently and within a team
- Sound judgement and ability to respond in crisis situations
- Solid computer skills and attention to detail in documentation
- Commitment to safe work practices and client wellbeing
- NSW driver licence
