Your Role
As a Support Worker at Edel Quinn, you will play a key role in empowering individuals experiencing homelessness on their path to stable housing. You will assist with client intake, assessments, and daily operations, ensuring each client receives the tailored care and support they need to thrive. Your Responsibility
- Ensure a safe working environment by adhering to workplace health and safety practices.
- Implement effective risk management procedures to meet legal and governance requirements.
- Support clients in line with their case plans, providing trauma-informed care and maintaining client records.
- Assist in the daily management of accommodation services, ensuring the quality of service is upheld.
- Provide a safe and welcoming environment for clients, including managing intake and exit processes, room inspections, and meal preparation.
- Support clients in group activities and liaise with case workers to assist clients with their case plans.
- Advocate for clients and provide support in accessing external services.
- Manage client flow and ensure WH&S standards are met in the workplace.
- Document and maintain records in a professional and accurate manner.
You Will Need
- Certificate-level qualification in a related field, or current tertiary study.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Sound judgment in crisis and emergency situations.
- Current first aid certificate.
- Non-judgmental, ethical attitude towards clients and colleagues.
- Knowledge of WHS legislation and ability to adhere to it.
- Flexibility to work across rotating shifts (including sleepovers).
