Your Role
As the Vinnies Van Services Coordinator, you’ll manage a vital outreach program delivering food and support to people experiencing homelessness across the Illawarra region. This dynamc role involves coordinating food services, overseeing scheduling and operations, and supporting a large volunteer team. You’ll ensure the program runs smoothly, safely and in line with organisational standards, while fostering a respectful and inclusive environment for all involved.
Your Responsibility

Lead and coordinate Vinnies Van operations across the Illawarra, including the kitchen, van services and office.

Ensure compliance with policies, WHS and food safety standards.

Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, volunteers, stakeholders and community partners.

Oversee rosters and kitchen operations in Wollongong – food safety and hospitality experience desirable.

Recruit, train and support a diverse team of staff and volunteers.

Manage day-to-day administration and ensure safe, effective program delivery.

Facilitate advisory and team coordinator meetings to drive collaboration and service improvement.
You Will Need
-
Experience in the community sector or working with vulnerable groups.

Previous involvement in volunteer-led services or programs highly regarded.

Strong people skills with the ability to lead, support and motivate teams.

Organised and adaptable – able to juggle competing demands with calm and confidence.

Solid admin and time management skills, including Microsoft Office.

Excellent communication, conflict and relationship management abilities.

Current driver’s licence and confidence to drive a van or small truck.

Knowledge of WHS and food safety requirements.

Hospitality or food handling experience (desirable).
