Your Role

 

This is an exciting opportunity to join Vinnies at the Matthew Talbot Hostel, where you will play an important role in delivering quality food service while maintaining the highest standards of food safety and hospitality.

 

Your Responsibility

  • Inspect delivered goods for quality, temperature and quantity

  • Prepare and serve meals, salads and sandwiches across breakfast, lunch, dinner and functions

  • Adhere to HACCP guidelines, ensuring safe food handling and personal hygiene

  • Maintain kitchen cleanliness, including equipment, crockery and utensils

  • Manage waste, prepare dining areas and assist with tea and snack service

  • Utilise donated items promptly and maintain organised storage areas

  • Provide friendly, professional service to residents, guests and staff

  • Follow WHS guidelines and contribute to a safe, supportive working environment

You Will Need

 

  • Food Handling Certificates (or equivalent)

  • Experience as a kitchen hand, sandwich hand or in a similar food service role

  • Understanding of HACCP and food safety requirements

  • Strong customer service skills and a commitment to high standards

  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team

  • Excellent time management and organisational skills

  • Resilience to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a positive, professional attitude
