Your Role
We are looking for a compassionate and motivated Support Worker to join our Homelessness and Housing Services team in the Inner West. In this role, you will support clients living in or accessing our accommodation services, helping them feel safe, welcome and supported as they work towards their goals. This is a part time opportunity working 25.25 hours per week across daay, evening and ocassional night shifts. SCHADS Award Level 1 on offer.
Your Responsibility
- Creating a safe, respectful and welcoming environment for women and children
- Assisting with daily routines, group activities and accommodation standards
- Supporting families with case plans in collaboration with case workers
- Maintaining accurate client records and daily service notes
- Responding appropriately in crisis or emergency situations
- Ensuring WHS standards are met and maintained
- Contributing to a positive and collaborative team culture
You Will Need
- Certificate in Community Services (or working towards one) or equivalent experience
- Experience working with women and children experiencing disadvantage, hardship or homelessness
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a non-judgmental approach
- Excellent verbal and written communication
- Sound computer literacy
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Flexibility to work a rotating roster including day, evening and occasional night shifts
- Experience in residential homeless services and knowledge of homelessness relating to women and children including domestic and family violence, mental health conditions and safety planninig
- Proven capacity to ensure professional boundaries
- Current First Aid Certificate and NSW Driver License
- Current WWCC & National Police Check
