Your Role
This is a hands-on leadership role based at Matthew Talbot Hostel, responsible for overseeing day-to-day accommodation services. You will support staff performance, coordinate site operations, and ensure a safe, well-managed environment for residents.
Your Responsibility
- Oversee daily operations of the accommodation service
- Lead, supervise and develop a high-performing team
- Coordinate room allocations, resident intake and inspections
- Manage shift coverage, handovers and rostering support
- Maintain a safe and secure environment, including regular site checks
- Ensure compliance with Work Health and Safety requirements
- Manage site resources, stock and ordering
- Liaise with external agencies regarding vacancies
- Maintain accurate records and contribute to reporting
- Participate in the on-call roster
Shift Requirements
This role operates on a rotating shift cycle. Applicants must be available and willing to work all shifts as part of a structured 3-week rotation:
- Week 1: A Shift – 0600 to 1430
- Week 2: C Shift – 2200 to 0630
- Week 3: B Shift – 1400 to 2230
You Will Need
- Certificate IV in Community Services (or similar), or relevant experience
- Experience in a supervisory or team leadership role
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- Confident communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Knowledge of Work Health and Safety practices
- Experience working with complex or diverse client groups
- Ability to respond effectively in high-pressure situations
- Sound administrative and computer skills
