Your Role

We are looking for an experienced retail leader with outstanding operational expertise and proven people management capabilities to lead and grow a diverse portfolio of Vinnies retail stores across the Riverina region. Based in Wagga Wagga, this role oversees a network of stores, including key locations in Wagga Wagga, Lavington and Griffith, while supporting a broader regional footprint.  Your people-first leadership style, commercial acumen and commitment to safety will be essential in driving strong operational outcomes while supporting our mission to assist people in need. Applicants with experience in large-format or multi-site retail operations are encouraged to apply.

Your Responsibility

  • Lead, inspire and develop teams of paid employees and volunteers across multiple store locations.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service and create welcoming shopping experiences for every customer, every time.
  • Drive sales performance, productivity and key business outcomes while effectively managing budgets and operational costs.
  • Maintain outstanding visual merchandising and operational standards across all stores.
  • Champion the voice of the donor by ensuring the highest standards of product sorting, pricing, presentation and stock quality.
  • Build and strengthen the volunteer workforce while fostering positive relationships within the local community.
  • Promote a culture of safety, accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Coach and develop store leaders, building capability and succession within the team.
  • Use the Society’s mission and values to guide decision-making and act as an ambassador for Vinnies both within the organisation and in the community.

You Will Need

  • Relevant qualifications and/or significant experience in retail, business or operational management.
  • Demonstrated success leading multi-site retail operations and delivering strong commercial results.
  • Proven ability to lead, motivate, coach and develop high-performing teams.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to use business data to drive operational improvements and informed decision-making.
  • Financial acumen, including experience managing budgets and profit and loss performance.
  • An understanding of the retail landscape and an appreciation of the role of the not-for-profit sector.
  • A current NSW Driver Licence and the ability to travel regularly throughout the region.
